Lies of P: Overture – A New DLC Expansion Arrives This Summer

By Keith MitchellFebruary 12, 2025
Lies of P DLC - Lies of P Overture

Back in November 2024, Neowiz’s Round 8 Studios had teased that it was working on a new DLC for the amazing Soulslike title, Lies of P. Of course, if you had completed the game, you’d know that either DLC or a new game was on the way. During February’s PlayStation State of Play, we now know that this DLC is called Lies of P: Overture.

While this was revealed during a PlayStation show, this DLC will be available for Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

This next chapter of Lies of P: doesn’t have a release date, but Neowiz is teasing a Summer 2025 release. Details at the moment are still unknown, but we did see several new locations during the State of Play appearance and I’m looking forward to more information about the DLC that I’ll be happen to pass along once I get it.

Lies of P: Overture is a dramatic prequel to the acclaimed Lies of P, transporting you to the city of Krat in its final days of haunting late-19th-century Belle Époque beauty. On the brink of the Puppet Frenzy massacre, you follow the legendary Stalker—a mysterious guide—through untold stories and chilling secrets. As Geppetto’s deadly puppet, you’ll journey through Krat and its surroundings, uncover hidden backstories, and face epic battles that shape the past and future of Lies of P.

For those unfamiliar, Lies of P is the first action RPG/Soulslike game from Neowiz’s Round 8, a new studio that had never worked on this genre before. Despite being their debut in the space, they delivered one hell of a game—featuring solid gameplay, an intriguing story, and the ability to capture the hearts of fans of the genre, myself included. I reviewed Lies of P and scored it a 4.5/5, and loved the game, though mentioning that some of the bosses were a bit unfair—but beatable.

Sure, we didn’t get that Bloodborne remaster that everyone was looking forward to (Sorry!). But I’ll take this Lies of P DLC news just as well.
