Global game development and publishing company Smilegate recently announced that a plethora of content will be coming to their Early Access survival RPG adventure IfSunSets throughout 2025. This official roadmap announcement follows a series of hotfixes and game updates stemming from community feedback that have helped the title receive “Very Positive” reviews over the past 30 days, and “Mostly Positive” reviews overall.

Notable content and features being added to IfSunSets in 2025 include:

  • The expansion of multiplayer capacity to a maximum of four players by February.

  • Steam Deck and controller support.

  • The addition of main story quests and the final boss battle.

  • Introduction of new regions and dungeons, including four ocean regions, a massive island, an underwater temple, and the Tower of Night.

  • New ocean-related content, such as island conquests and naval battles.

  • New animal features, including a farming system, animal companions, and a pet system.

  • NPC affinity and romance systems.

  • New buildings and automation tools.

“We are very grateful to our amazing community for their ongoing support of IfSunSets’ Early Access build, which our team strives to improve with every update,” said Byunghun Cho, CEO of POLYMORPH. “It is thanks to their consistent feedback and dedication that we have been able to plan our 2025 roadmap, which features numerous updates and additions that were directly requested by our users. IfSunSets continues to grow bigger and better, and we hope players both new and old look forward to what the future of Luminora has in store!”

Additionally, IfSunSets is celebrating the Lunar New Year with a 20% discount from now until January 30, players can purchase the game for $15.99 USD (regular price $19.99).

IfSunSets boasts immersive day-and-night cycles, each offering unique gameplay experiences. During the day, players must make the most of every moment as they explore the abundant island to fish, farm, hunt, gather resources, craft materials, build fortifications, and level up through intense action-packed combat against cursed monsters and ancient bosses. When night falls, gameplay transforms from RPG adventure to survival horror, unleashing swarms of spine-chilling, undead monsters that relentlessly stalk the player and invade their territory. Surviving until the morning becomes the sole objective once the sun sets, with every decision made during the day being essential to seeing the sun rise once more.
