CES 2025: Acer Announces New Gaming Handheld

By Jordan AndowJanuary 6, 2025

Today as part of CES 2025, Acer has announced the Nitro Blaze 11 and Nitro Blaze 8 handheld gaming devices. You may be asking yourself why those names? Well, the Nitro Blaze 11 boasts a 10.95inch screen. Yes that’s right, your dreams you didn’t know you had have come true. You can now hold a bigger, heavier device in your hands for all your fun!

Powered by AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processors, 16 GB of LPDDR5X memory, and up to 2 TB of storage, the Nitro Blaze series boasts lightning-fast performance and responsiveness. Their WQXGA touch panels (8.8-inch or 10.95-inch) featuring Radeon Super Resolution and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution technology, ensure fluid image quality. The dedicated Acer Game Space application simplifies managing and accessing popular games and applications on handheld gaming PCs. Oh, and both the Nitro Blaze 11 and Nitro Blaze 8 come equip with Hall Effect sticks. So, that should mean no stick drift issues, something that can’t be said for many other devices on the market.

I’m interested to see how these devices can perform in real world testing. For now, I’m sure of one thing, The specs are pretty good for a handheld gaming device. You know what good specs mean…a premium price and that is exactly what we are getting.

The Acer Nitro Blaze 11 will be available in North America in Q2, starting at USD 1,099, and in EMEA in Q2, starting at EUR 1,199. If that’s out of your price range, The smaller Acer Nitro Blaze 8 will be available starting at USD 899, and EUR 999.

I will definitely keep an eye on these new Acer Nitro Blaze devices. Especially the Nitro Blaze 11, if it feels comfortable to use and can provide consistently decent performance, this might be the handheld for me.

You can try looking at the Acer website for more information about all the Nitro Blaze devices!

Jordan has been playing games since the age of six. This ignited a passion which initially led him towards game development before trying his hand in the realm of games media, starting in 2022. It turns out he's quite good at it, even if he doesn't always believe in himself. Now, just a few short years later, not only is Jordan a valued member of our staff here at The Outerhaven, but he also co-owns and helps to run Analog Stick Gaming.
