Colin Farrell Gets Golden Globe For His Role In The Penguin

“I guess it’s prosthetics from here on out..."

The Penguin, Colin Farrell

Look, we all know that for superhero shows, it can be really hard to get respect for doing great things within them. Angela Bassett was freaking ROBBED of her Oscar for her incredible performance in Wakanda Forever. However, there are times when things really do work out, and at The Golden Globes tonight, one of those moments happened when Colin Farrell was the winner of “Best Performance by an Actor in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television” for his role as Oswald Cobb in The Penguin. Yes, that’s a long name for a category, but that’s what the Golden Globes does!

Jokes aside, Farrell crushed it as Oswald and many continue to be stunned that he’s underneath that mountain of prosthetics and able to sound so differently than he usually does. While accepting the award, he noted:

“No one to thank on this one. I did it all by myself. Just a raw, pared-away performance. 35, 34… [There are] too many people to thank. You all know it takes a village, whether it’s on the small screen or the big screen. I’m here on the backs of the talents of so many people through the years, maybe this one more than others.”

Colin Farrell went on to thank his co-stars and the team behind the incredible project, and he now is only one of THREE actors to win awards for portraying comic book characters, the other two being Heath Ledger and Joaquin Phoenix.
