Marvel vs Capcom Infinite and Beyond mod Trailer released

By Kevin KellyDecember 20, 2024
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite and beyond

The love letter to one of the Marvel vs. Capcom games is coming in a few days. Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Beyond will be released, which is a mod with a slew of new features. Maximilian Dood and the mod team took the game to task and updated the look and feel, as well as new music. It also has new updated skins and new costumes for free. Eight months of turning Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite into what the game it could have been had Capcom given it the attention it needed.

The link for the mod will be available for installation on the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Beyond website. Surprisingly, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is also 80% off on Steam right now, just in time for the game to receive the massive mod. Stage updates, which are just a sample of what this mode includes, are also available.

For instance, the Avengers Tower stage now has classic character select screens in video games. There is a stage with Onslaught in the background, which is a nod to Marvel vs Capcom. Similar to Marvel vs Capcom, there is also a 4-player mode. New music and voiceovers will be available, also. Some new gameplay will also be brought in such as Thanos’ ability to use all the Infinity stones as moves.

The Marvel vs Capcom History

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite attempted to follow up the Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 release, back in 2017 with Capcom working on the game, instead of Hunter X Hunter and Bloody Roar game’s original developers Eighting, to produce it. Thanks to Disney’s acquisition of Marvel in 2009, several Marvel vs Capcom titles such as Marvel vs Capcom Origins, Marvel vs Capcom 2, and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 were delisted from digital storefronts.

Despite the hype, Infinite was not as successful as previous entries in terms of sales and critical reception. Meanwhile, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: Community Edition garnered community support to add 50 characters to the roster such as X-Men‘s Cyclops, Street Fighter’s Sakura, Rival School’s Batsu, and more.

To see Marvel vs Capcom Infinite get a new run is quite exciting, to say the least. Especially in a year the Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection was released. You could say it’s … uncanny.

The Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite and Beyond mod will be available tomorrow for Steam owners of the original game.
