Hideki Kamiya Blasts Accusations Of AI Art Being Used In Okami 2 Reveal

Go away!

Okami 2, Hideki Kamiya

If you’re still trying to process all the big announcements that we got last Thursday during a certain “awards show,” you’re not alone. Whether you liked the show or not, there were plenty of big announcements, with one of the most unexpected ones being the reveal of Okami 2. It wasn’t just that the cult-classic game series was coming back, but that Hideki Kamiya would return via his new studio to make this sequel happen as he always hoped it would happen. To those who know the “will” of Hideki…you know he ain’t going to take crap about anything.

So, when someone on Twitter asked Hideki Kamiya if there was any AI used in the reveal trailer, he was rather blunt in his response:

#Okami2 director Hideki Kamiya was asked by a fan if the announcement trailer was made with AI

Yep, that’s Kamiya for you! Jokes aside, it’s good that the Okami 2 teaser didn’t have any hint of AI in it, as that’s a big issue that many in the gaming industry are fighting over. However, it should be noted that the trailer isn’t entirely without merit, as one of the big flaws at The Game Awards this year was Geoff Keighley allowing an AI-generated video game to be presented as a “big deal.”

Regardless, you won’t have to worry about Okami Amaterasu having anything like that in her game, as she’s made of godly energy and white fur.
