Capcom States It’s Wanting To Bring Back “Dormant IP” After Okami Reveal

It’s been a few days since The Game Awards, and many people are still comprehending some of the big announcements that took place there. Easily, one of the biggest ones was that Hideki Kamiya was back at Capcom with a new team in “Clover,” and they were making an Okami sequel. Kamiya is famous for his words about the game and how it should’ve been a bigger success than it was. Now, he’ll get his second chance with the series, and many are excited about it.

However, in a special news piece on its website, Capcom confirmed that it was going to bring back “dormant IPs,” stating:

In addition to regularly releasing major new titles each year, Capcom is focusing on re-activating dormant IPs that haven’t had a new title launch recently. The company is working to further enhance corporate value by leveraging its rich library of content, which includes reviving past IPs like the two titles announced above, in order to continuously produce highly efficient, high-quality titles.

Obviously, there are a lot of IP that could fit that bill. Ace Attorney, Mega Man, DarkStalkers, MVC, and so much more! The publisher has been on fire recently, so it would behoove them to capitalize on this momentum and keep making great games.
