Naughty Dog Announces New IP – Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

By Jordan AndowDecember 13, 2024
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet

If you’re a fan of PlayStation then you’re probably wondering where all their big hitters have been? Well, at The Game Awards 2024 one of those heavy hitters, Naughty Dog finally announced their brand-new original IP. After years of speculation, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet was revealed with a lengthy trailer.

Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet directed by Neil Druckmann has been in development since 2020. The team at Naughty Dog is taking us into space, on what sounds like a bounty hunting adventure. Here’s what Druckmann had to say about the game in their official blog post.

Intergalactic stars our newest protagonist, Jordan A. Mun, a dangerous bounty hunter who ends up stranded on Sempiria – a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago. In fact, anyone who’s flown to it hoping to unravel its mysterious past was never heard from again. Jordan will have to use all her skills and wits if she hopes to be the first person in over 600 years to leave its orbit.

As a huge fan of video game and movie scores. I was delighted that Naughty Dog have announced Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross award winning composing duo will be writing the score for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.

There is no date yet for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet but with it having four years of development already under its belt I don’t expect we will be waiting to long for more information.

Jordan has been playing games since the age of six. This ignited a passion which initially led him towards game development before trying his hand in the realm of games media, starting in 2022. It turns out he's quite good at it, even if he doesn't always believe in himself. Now, just a few short years later, not only is Jordan a valued member of our staff here at The Outerhaven, but he also co-owns and helps to run Analog Stick Gaming.
