New World: Aeternum Gets New Living Roadmap

By Scott AdamsNovember 25, 2024
Sun setting on the land of Aeternum in New World

Today, Amazon Games revealed the Living Roadmap for New World: Aeternum in its first post-launch Dev Update. This new format gives the community more insight into what the team is actively working on, what is in early development and early ideas that are being explored.

The team is excited to share in-development features as part of the new Living Roadmap, including more types of Seasonal Worlds, a revamped Invasion mode, new PVP modes, updates to reputation systems and more. The team is also exploring early concepts and ideas such as new weapons, a new zone, new PVE modes, new features such as company halls with storage and a siege system and more, all designed to deepen the endgame and bring new dimensions to the New World: Aeternum experience.

This roadmap starts with a deep dive into Season 7, which will feature a ton of new content for New World: Aeternum, including the introduction of Seasonal Worlds, a new Outpost Rush map and much more.

Season 7

“Get ready for an exciting new year with Season 7, launching in January 2025. It will introduce Seasonal Worlds starting with a PvP focused world, more daily solo trials, updates to Mutated Expeditions, and a preview for a new Outpost Rush map.

Seasonal World 1: PvP Focus

Seasonal Worlds are dynamic, limited-time servers designed to deliver unique gameplay experiences. The first of which features always-on PVP, special loot that drops on death, and unique items. Rewards and progression will carry over after the season ends, ensuring their efforts are never lost. Look forward to learning all about how this World will work in a future article.

New Outpost Rush (OPR) Map Preview

A new Outpost Rush map is coming, offering players a fresh battlefield to conquer and test their skills in this strategic PVP game mode. Outpost Rush is a team-based competition where players gather resources, capture objectives, and outmaneuver opponents in epic battles for dominance and rewards. This new map will have a preview weekend during Season 7, so keep an eye out for more details.

Mutated Expedition Upgrades

Unified Mutations will remove the need for multiple gear sets, add matchmaking for M3, and improve rewards for these challenging Expeditions.

Daily Solo Trials

Solo Trials provide an exciting opportunity for players to test their individual skill, strategy, and mastery in high-stakes battles against iconic bosses. In Season 7, three brand-new challenges take the spotlight: A Mother’s Dream featuring Empress Zhou, Tempest’s Mind starring Isabella, and Daichi Soto, offering fresh, thrilling encounters that push players to their limits.

Combat Balance Updates

Season 7 will bring balance updates, starting with some changes to reduce time to kill in PvP and adjustments to weapons like the blunderbuss and hatchet. More information will come as we get closer to release.

New Artifacts and Perks

Season 7 introduces eight brand-new artifacts to enhance gameplay and strategy, including seven powerful weapons and one unique accessory: an earring.

Seasonal Events

Events like Legacy of Crassus and Rabbit’s Revenge are making a return, offering new players a chance to experience these seasonal favorites. Certain events, like the Legacy of Crassus, will receive enhanced rewards beyond level 700. Expect additional details at a later date.

Looking Ahead: In Development Features

The Dev team is bringing fresh excitement to New World: Aeternum and is excited to share in-development features as part of our new Living Roadmap. These include more types of Seasonal Worlds, a revamped Invasion mode, new PvP modes, additional maps for existing modes, and endgame improvements such as expanded wars. We are excited to share that we are working on long-requested updates such as global storage and the Barbershop. The team is also working to up-level zones such as Reekwater and update reputation systems. The journey ahead promises to be unforgettable.

In Exploration: Big Content Additions

This section of the roadmap highlights early concepts and ideas that could shape New World: Aeternum’s future in exciting and unexpected ways. From new weapons, a new zone, and new PvE modes to a completely new trade skill, these potential additions aim to keep gameplay fresh and engaging. The team is also exploring new features like company halls with storage, a siege system, and unique exploration and collection systems, all designed to deepen the endgame and bring new dimensions to the New World: Aeternum experience.

Thanks for your support! We’ll see you in Aeternum.”
