Warcraft and Warcraft II Receive Remastered Versions

By Josh PiedraNovember 14, 2024

During the Warcraft 30th Anniversary stream yesterday, Blizzard Entertainment unveiled that the original Warcraft and Warcraft II RTS games will receive a remastered re-release!

They will be a part of the Warcraft Remastered Battle Chest which will also include the previously-released Warcraft III: Reforged game alongside a 2.0 update patch. The battle chest is priced at $39.99 on battle.net.

Warcraft and Warcraft II were given the same treatment as Starcraft II back in 2017. You can play the original games as they were released or, with the press of a button, instantly switch over to a brand-new hi-resolution graphics style. If you don’t like it, simply press a button and instantly switch back to the game’s original graphics.

Both games also come with quality-of-life updates for modern gaming.

As far as the Warcraft III: Reforged, 2.0 update,  this patch overhauls, the environments and lighting and revamps the user interface. In addition, they are uprezzing all classic Warcraft III assets to HD. You can now customize the type of assets you want to play with and even mix and match if you like. They’ve also included a bunch of quality-of-life changes, such as in-game hotkey customization, a revamped ladder, and much, much more.

The Battle Chest is available now!
