Nintendo Switch Console Sales Soar Past 146 Million Units

Nintendo has announced that the Switch family of consoles has surpassed 146.04 million units shipped from March 2017 to September 30, 2024. In the last quarter alone, the console shipped 2.62 million units worldwide, underscoring its enduring popularity.

Software sales for the last quarter totaled 39.64 million, as confirmed during the latest financial meeting with shareholders. Nintendo also updated the list of the best-selling first-party video games:

  1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – 64.27 million
  2. Animal Crossing: New Horizons – 46.45 million
  3. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate – 35.14 million
  4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – 32.29 million
  5. Super Mario Odyssey – 28.50 million
  6. Pokemon Sword / Pokemon Shield – 26.44 million
  7. Pokemon Scarlet / Pokemon Violet – 25.69 million
  8. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom – 21.04 million
  9. Super Mario Party – 20.98 million
  10. New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe – 17.77 million

New releases include Nintendo Switch Sports at 14.37 million, The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom at 2.58 million, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door at 1.94 million, and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD at 1.57 million copies. Overall, more than 1.3 billion Nintendo Switch games have been sold since 2017.

During the conference call, there was no mention of the anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 or any new console presentation from the Kyoto company. As more news and rumors emerge, we will keep you informed.
