New Details On Superman & Lois Season 4 Budget Revealed

Yeah, they were REALLY poor!
By Todd BlackNovember 1, 2024
Superman & Lois Season 4

As someone who has followed the “fall of the CW” for a while, you can easily see when they started to “not care” about their original programming and were doing just about anything to be as basic as possible, including with the Arrowverse shows, and arguably ESPECIALLY, with the Arrowverse shows. Anyone who saw the last seasons of The Flash, Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow, and the one-off show Naomi knows exactly what I mean. With Superman & Lois Season 4, the question for them wasn’t about quality, as the show has been incredibly consistent, but it was about budget.

We found out early that the show would have a massive budget cut, not only with it getting ten episodes across its final run, but that many of the main characters that MADE THE SHOW WHAT IT IS (oh, and Kyle and Chrissy) wouldn’t be around as much. Yesterday, one of the crew revealed that there were even MORE budget cuts and losses than you might think!

"That set was extremely difficult to film on, but also the people who own the land, I don't know if they would want us there again. All the exterior scenes now are in the studio, that's why we're always on the porch at night because it's easier."

if you’ve watched the first five episodes of the season, you’ll understand how shocking this is, and how much magic they had to pull off to make it seem like the barn and other elements were “still there” instead of being just “TV magic.”

While that doesn’t explain all the choices within Superman & Lois Season 4, it does show how far the crew to go to adapt to their new situation. For my thoughts on the latest episode, check out my newest review!
