Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Dates Announced, Crossplay Included

By Keith MitchellOctober 23, 2024

During Capcom’s Monster Hunter Wilds October 2024 Showcase, Capcom has finally announced that it will host an Open Beta for its upcoming flagship title of 2025.  This open beta will be coming to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The beta will be divided into multiple play sessions, with PlayStation Plus subscribers getting three days of early access. Any tier of PlayStation Plus is eligible for early play. If you’re not subscribed to PlayStation Plus, Xbox Game Pass Core, or Ultimate, you can still participate in the open beta, but you’ll have to wait until regular access begins. The open beta will also support crossplay!

The Open Beta Test will offer three distinct experiences: the full character creation tool, with data that can be transferred to the final game, a Story Trial, and the free-roaming Doshaguma Hunt. In the Story Trial, players will witness the game’s opening cutscene and complete basic tutorials while hunting a Chatacabra. In the Doshaguma Hunt, players can either track down the Alpha of a Doshaguma pack or explore the Windward Plains. Both the Story Trial and Doshaguma Hunt can be played solo, with the option to send out an SOS flare to form an online party of up to four players, or call in NPC Support Hunters for help.

As a bonus, anyone who participates in the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta will receive a Stuffed Felyne Teddy pendant that will carry over to the full game.

Open Beta Test Dates and Platforms:

  • PlayStation Plus Exclusive Early Access:
    Oct 28th, 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET – Oct 30th, 7:59 PM PT / 10:59 PM ET
  • PlayStation 5 / Xbox Series X|S / PC:
    Oct 31st, 8 PM PT / 11 PM ET – Nov 3rd, 6:59 PM PT / 9:59 PM ET

Monster Hunter Wilds open beta

This will be a great time to see how the game performs across all platforms, that’s going to be the most important thing for me. Especially since I’ll be playing on PC. Speaking about the PC, check out the Monster Hunter Wilds PC system requirements if you’re also thinking about playing on PC.

Monster Hunter Wilds releases on February 28, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
