Super Nintendo World In Orlando Gets Official Opening Date

Let's-a-go to Orlando!

Super Nintendo World, Shigeru Miyamoto

Nintendo has been working hard over the last several years to expand its brand beyond just video games. That’s ironic, obviously, because they’re currently the most dominant video game company out there in both hardware and software. However, their efforts have bore fruit, as they went into the mobile market, they had a billon-dollar-grossing animated film, and, of course, there was Super Nintendo World. This was the company’s amusement park based on its characters. It started out in Japan, then came over to the United States in California, with the promise that it would eventually arrive in Orlando.

We knew that progress was being made on the Orlando park, but now, via the official website for the “Universal Epic Universe” park, we know that Super Nintendo World will be open to the public on May 22nd, 2025.

If you don’t understand the “Epic Universe,” it’s an attempt by Universal to combine Nintendo, Harry Potter, How to Train Your Dragon, and other universes into a set of parks that people can visit. The whole park will open on May 22nd, making it a big deal for Universal.

We know that the Mario part of the park will be open on launch day, but the Donkey Kong expansion that was teased a while back will likely also be open there. Plus, we know The Big N wants to keep adding elements to the park based on other franchises. Either way, this will be a great vacation spot for Nintendo fans.
