Steam Next Fest Begins Today Through October 21

By Sean GarmerOctober 14, 2024
Steam Next Fest

Over the last few years Video game developers have increasingly continued to lean on demos to let gamers try out their creations without spending money. Thus allowing for even the curious nonfan of a certain title or genre to give a shot and perhaps be enticed on making a purchase. You could perhaps attribute the return of demos to a myriad of factors, but at least on the PC side, Valve’s Steam Next Fest is probably a major reason why. Making demos not just about a few hit games, but turning them into a celebratory festival for all.

Beginning today and through Monday October 21 (10am PT/1pm ET), the fall edition of Steam Next Fest is available. Gamers have the chance to try out hundreds of demos from all sorts of genres. The majority of these games have not released, so it is a great way to show support and Wishlist any titles of interest. Along with these demos there are also livestreams and developer interviews available for many of these games as well.

Valve also released a teaser trailer showcasing some of the games included.

Regardless of your favorite genre, there’s usually always a little something for everyone during the Steam Next Fest. Just be sure to check on the game’s steam page after downloading, as some developers do deactivate the license for the demo once it concludes on October 21.
