Warner Bros. Reportedly Developing New Batman Game Set in Matt Reeves’ Universe

A new Batman game is reportedly in development, set in the universe created by Matt Reeves’ 2022 film The Batman. According to Puck News, this game will exist within the same continuity as the film, which featured Robert Pattinson as Gotham’s dark knight.

Matthew Belloni mentioned that Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) sees significant potential in their gaming division, even after considering selling it back in 2020 for $4 billion.

Belloni stated, “Zaslav still sees the games unit as strategic, especially as the various WBD divisions are beginning to collaborate more closely on properties like the upcoming Penguin HBO show and game, both seeded in the 2022 The Batman movie.” This suggests a close synergy between Warner Bros.’ film, TV, and gaming ventures, especially with the anticipated Penguin series set to debut soon.

The rumored game has not been officially confirmed, and details remain scarce. However, it seems that the project won’t focus on the Penguin, despite the villain’s presence in the same universe. Fans speculate that Batman himself will be the main character, given his prominence and the game’s potential action-adventure style.
