Capcom Announces Plans to Revive Multiple IPs

Capcom, the well-known Japanese video game developer, has revealed its plans to revive several of its classic franchises, including the beloved Dead Rising series.

In a recent interview with IGN, the development team behind Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster discussed Capcom’s broader strategy to bring back some of its older IPs.

Capcom Announces Plans to Revive Multiple IPs

Capcom stated, “Capcom would like to continue to bring back many of its IPs.” The studio emphasized its intent to focus on promoting the upcoming Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster before considering future projects within the franchise. This remaster, set for release on September 19, 2024, for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S, features enhanced character models and new motion capture techniques, leading some fans to argue it feels more like a remake than a simple remaster.

This news comes on the heels of Capcom’s recent success with other re-releases, such as the highly acclaimed Resident Evil 4 remake. The company’s efforts have sparked hope for the return of other classic titles, including Dino Crisis, Mega Man, and Onimusha. The potential revival of these franchises could mark a new chapter for Capcom as it continues to leverage its rich history to captivate a new generation of gamers.
