Double Dragon Revive is a 3D Remake of the Original Double Dragon

One of my favorite gaming series, Double Dragon, has been on a roll lately. With Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons being a surprise hit that no one saw coming, the series is now getting a remake with the reveal of Double Dragon Revive. Announced by ArcSys and Yukes, Double Dragon Revive appears to be a remake of the original Double Dragon game, featuring Billy and Jimmy.

Watching the trailer, I can’t help but be reminded of the scrapped Streets of Rage 3D game that never saw the light of day, mixed with a bit of Final Fight Streetwise. We’ve never had a 3D Double Dragon game before, and I’m thrilled about this one because I absolutely love the Double Dragon series. Well, except for Double Dragon 4—that game was terrible and should be avoided at all costs.

Here’s what we know about the game according to the Steam page, which you should check out and wishlist the game.

Renewed, stylish character graphics!
See your favorites from the golden age of arcades recreated in modern 3D graphics.
Powerful foes from their past return to face off against the Lee brothers.

The ultimate belt-scroll action experience!
The player traverses the screen horizontally to take down enemies in this beloved genre.
Experience the same simple and intuitive gameplay, with controls and balance refined for the modern era.
The carefully crafted experience, supervised by staff with experience on Arc System Works fighting game titles, makes it easy for new players to get engrossed right away.

Thrilling, strategic action!
The combat requires adaptation and variety, more than a simple button-masher.
Delve into the strategy by learning enemy patterns and finding the most effective attack timings.
Pick up weapons scattered throughout the stages and make the most of the area gimmicks to seize the upperhand in battle!

I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to get some more info on the game.

Double Dragon Revive is set to release in 2025 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
