Palworld May Not Come To Switch Due To “Technical Reasons”

...sure, Pocket Pair!

Palworld Pocketpair Summer Game Fest, The Pokemon Company

Look, ever since Palworld was first shown off, we all knew what it was trying to emulate. They took the concept of Pokemon and just went wild with it by giving the creatures guns, having the player characters get more freedom than they knew what to do with, and so on and so forth. To its credit, the game was a big hit when it came out on Xbox and PC. Sure, things have cooled off since that fiery launch, but they’re about to drop a big update, and they’re coming to PlayStation more than likely. So, what about Nintendo?

You’d think that the dev team wouldn’t bring the game to the Nintendo Switch because of how close it is to the Pokemon series, but that’s apparently not what’s giving them pause. Instead, what’s giving them pause is the hardware. As noted by GameFile in a talk with the team, they cited “technical reasons” for the lack of a Switch port.

The Switch does lag behind the Xbox Series X/S and many PC models, so that could make sense, but then again, multiple big-name titles, both first and third-party in creation, have used the Switch just fine.

Then again, that could just mean the title arrives on the Switch 2 after the game gets even more updates. We’ll have to stay tuned to find out!
