Monster Hunter Wilds Will Support Crossplay, PC Version Releases Alongside Consoles

By Keith MitchellJune 7, 2024
Monster Hunter Wilds Summer Game Fest 2024

It was revealed during the Summer Game Fest 2024 that Capcom’s upcoming Monster Hunting title, Monster Hunter Wilds, will support crossplay (it’s about damned time) and will also be released for the PC, right along with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.

One of my biggest concerns and frustrations with Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise was that the game didn’t support crossplay. I’m sure if you’ve read my world here on The Outerhaven, you’d see I’ve mentioned it multiple times. I’m glad that Capcom is finally getting on board with this and allowing both console and PC gamers to play what is shaping up to be Capcom’s best Monster Hunter title. It’s a complete 180 for Capcom, who once rejected the idea of crossplay for Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise. I suppose we can thank another monster-hunting title that, sadly, wasn’t long for this world but did feature crossplay. That being Wild Hearts.

I’m also thrilled that Monster Hunter Wild will be released on the PC on the same date as the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions. You have no idea how happy that makes me since both World and Rise on the PC had to wait to catch up to the console versions. Having that be a thing of the past is a great feeling. Sadly, cross-progression or cross-saves still aren’t a thing, but I’ll gladly take the crossplay.

Capcom just made waiting for this game to be released harder for everyone.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released in 2025 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Nope, there is still no release date.
