Will Link Talk In The Legend of Zelda Movie?

By Todd BlackMay 1, 2024
Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild, Legend of Zelda Movie

The Legend of Zelda Movie that’s coming from Nintendo is something we didn’t expect in many ways. The biggest reason is that this film won’t be an animated production but a live-action movie. It’ll be helmed by Wes Ball, who has noted many times in recent months that he knows how important this movie is and how he’s going to try and do his best with it. However, there are many questions that remain. One of the biggest of those questions is, “Will Link talk in the film?”

As you might expect, The Legend of Zelda Movie director didn’t give a direct answer while talking with ComicBook.com. When asked by them about it, he apparently shrugged and said:

“A or B or C. I’ll just have it like the game – you just have a little dialogue boxes pop up in the movie and you pick which one you want. Link does communicate to villagers all over through the game, you just don’t hear his voice.”

Obviously, he’s joking about the first part, as that’s more of an RPG mechanic than a LOZ thing, but I digress. However, he is right that Link DOES talk in the games, you just never him speak out loud outside of his attack shouts. How will this affect the movie? It’s hard to say, but for now, all we can do is wait for more info.
