Xbox Reportedly Sets Sights on Fallout 5 Release Before 2030

Excitement is building around the Fallout series once again. With a boost from the recent Amazon TV show, the franchise is experiencing a resurgence of interest. Games like Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 are seeing a surge in players. Despite this renewed popularity, new content has been slow to emerge as Bethesda is currently tied up with The Elder Scrolls 6, delaying any immediate plans for Fallout 5. However, Xbox has its eyes set on accelerating the process.

During a recent Xbox Two podcast, insider Jez Corden revealed that Xbox is actively planning to release Fallout 5 before the decade ends. img Corden mentioned that while game development typically spans four to six years, leveraging the existing engine from Starfield could streamline the process. This means Fallout 5 could realistically hit the market by 2030.

The likelihood of Bethesda speeding up development is slim due to their focus on The Elder Scrolls 6. Hence, Xbox might collaborate with another studio to meet the ambitious timeline. Obsidian Entertainment, known for their work on Fallout New Vegas, could be a prime candidate. They’ve expressed interest in returning to the Fallout universe, which might align perfectly with Xbox’s plans.

If all goes according to plan, Xbox’s strategy could not only satisfy the long-awaiting fans but also ensure the franchise’s continued relevance in the gaming world.
