Saber Interactive Sold to Beacon Interactive, Confirms Which Games Are Still in Development

When Embracer Group acquired Saber Interactive, many of the games that were previously in development quickly became unknown. As of March 14, 2024, it was revealed that the Embracer Group had sold Saber Interactive to Beacon Interactive in a 247 million deal. However, the entirety of Saber Interactive apparently wasn’t added to the deal, with Embracer Group still owning a number of studios in the process.

In the press release from Embracer, it has been stated that Beacon Interactive now owns the following studios under Saber Interactive:

  • All Saber-branded studios
  • Nimble Giant
  • Fractured Byte
  • Mad Head Games
  • New World Interactive
  • 3D Realms
  • Slipgate
  • Sandbox Strategies
  • DIGIC (3D animation studio)

However, the Embracer Group still owns the following studios:

  • 34 Big Things
  • Shiver
  • 4A Games (Metro series)
  • Snapshot
  • Aspyr
  • Tripwire
  • Beamdog
  • Tuxedo Labs
  • Dimurge
  • Zen Studios

Beacon Interactive has been extended the option to acquire Zen Studios and 4A Games as part of the original deal. So far, nothing has been reported on whether Beacon Interactive will act on this.

Following this transaction, Tim Willits, the CCO at Saber Interactive, posted a message on Twitter/X, stating that many of the games that were in development before this deal, including Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando, and Jurassic Park: Survival, are still in progress.

I have received a lot of questions concerning the status of some of our previously announced projects now that Saber has separated from Embracer. I'm happy to confirm we're still working on a number of titles, including Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, John Carpenter's Toxic… pic.twitter.com/s063LxKz0X

Interestingly, this exchange sees Saber Interactive back with Matthew Karch, the co-founder of Saber Interactive and founder of Beacon Interactive.
