A new trailer for the upcoming Tactical RPG title from Atlus and Vanillaware, Unicorn Overlord, has been released. This time around, this released video acts as a trainer of sorts, shows potential players how to play the game, and points out helpful tidbits, including class promotions and strengthening characters. This follows the video from January 2024, which revealed several new classes and information about those classes.
As shown in the video, the game’s protagonist, Alain, receives commander training from his holy knight protector, Josef. Alain learns how to assemble his troops by using various versatile character classes, boosting character stats through promotions, and utilizing training items that grant experience to characters outside of combat.

Unicorn Overlord is an upcoming tactical role-playing game currently being developed by Vanillaware and will be published by Atlus. Set on the continent of Fevrith as it is consumed by war, the story follows exiled prince Alain, as he gathers allies in an attempt to take back his kingdom from the rogue General Valmore. The gameplay follows Alain and his army units fighting in large-scale battles, with field movement and battles taking place in real-time. This is a first for Vanillaware, who has, until now, ever attempted a tactical RPG. We are excited to try this game, and it has been voted one of our Most Anticipated Games and Most Anticipated RPGs of 2024.
Unicorn Overlord will be released on March 8, 2024, for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Sadly, the game will not be released for the PC, and I still can’t understand why Atlus and Vanillaware decided to skip that platform.
