Netflix’s Live-Action Avatar: The Last Airbender Gets Trailer and Release Date

By Todd BlackNovember 9, 2023
Netflix - Avatar The Last Airbender

If you’re a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender like I am, you know how great and terrible this franchise has been. In animated form? It was one of the greatest things ever, and the comics were great, too! The video games? Not so much. Oh, and let’s not talk about the M. Night Shyamalan thing, okay? So, when Netflix announced they were doing a live-action TV series about the adventures of Aang, Katara, Sokka, and the rest, people were…cautious, to say the least. Not to mention, there were MANY departures from this adaptation, including the franchise’s creators!

Despite that, during Netflix’s Geeked Week, they dropped the first teaser trailer for Avatar: The Last Airbender, and for what it is, it will make fans excited. We see mostly accurate looks of the characters and key scenes from the show, like the attack on the Air Nomads, Team Avatar riding on Appa with Momo right beside them, the Agni Kai between Fire Lord Ozai and Zuko, and more. Plus, we have a release date of February 22nd.

So, if nothing else, check out the trailer and see what you think for yourselves!
