Pikmin 4 Sells Record Numbers and Tears of The Kingdom Continues To Climb Higher on Nintendo Switch

It’s been an interesting year for the Nintendo Switch and its games. And with the latest financial data from Nintendo, it’s clear that people are still interested in the Switch and its titles. The console itself has done well, crossing 132 million, but many fans were curious about what Pikmin 4 has done since its launch in July and how other titles like The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom have done with their sales. The good news is that many of the Switch’s best titles have continued to climb high, and its big release in the quarter set record numbers for its series.

In the case of Pikmin 4, it sold 2.61 million units as of September 31st. That means it could well be close to, or over, 3 million as of now. Considering the “low numbers” past entries got, that’s not just a record; that’s rather phenomenal. Plus, it proves the teams’ efforts to make the game “more appealing” to other gamers worked! As for Tears of the Kingdom, it’s currently at 19.50 million units as of the end of September. So it’s likely at 20 million now. That’s very impressive, considering it came out in May and was moving units through the Summer and into September.

The curious part will be about how Super Mario Bros Wonder did and how the upcoming Super Mario RPG Remake will do. Only time will tell. Here are some other highlights from the Switch sales data should you want to check it out:

Nintendo Quarterly Update:

Switch – 132.46m

1) MK 8 Deluxe – 57.01m
2) Animal Crossing: NH – 43.38m
3) Smash Ultimate – 32.44m
4) Zelda: BOTW – 31.15m
5) Super Mario Odyssey – 26.95
