Today, Remedy Entertainment and Epic Games unveiled a brand-new launch gameplay trailer for Alan Wake 2, the long-awaited and highly anticipated sequel to the studio’s award-winning psychological thriller. Saga Anderson, an accomplished FBI agent, arrives to investigate a string of ritualistic murders in a small-town community. Alan Wake, a lost writer, pens a dark story to shape the reality around him. These two heroes, in two separate realities, are somehow connected. Can they break out to be the heroes they need to be?
Alan Wake 2 pushes players into a psychological horror story from the perspective of two playable characters. Saga Anderson risks her life to solve a deadly mystery of murders in the Pacific Northwest while Alan Wake attempts to rewrite his reality to escape the depths of the Dark Place, a nightmare version of New York City.
Taking full advantage of the power of current consoles and PCs and driven by Remedy Entertainment’s proprietary Northlight engine, players will take on powerful supernatural enemies in desperate situations filled with intense suspense and unexpected twists. We get to see a lot of the gameplay and other mechanics from the point of view of Saga Anderson. She seems to be looking into some of the supernatural occurrences surrounding a string of murders. We also get scenes of Alan screaming as she nears the pond the music gives her. It is all very ambient in nature. The mood of the house, the enemies, and the design of the layout of the quest all seem to fit the atmosphere the story gives.
Alan Wake will launch on October 27th, 2023 on Xbox one, Xbox Series S|X, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (Epic Games Store).
