Forza Motorsport Adds New Tracks, Sadly Scraps Split Screen Racing

By Keith MitchellAugust 11, 2023
Forza Motorsport Developer Direct-04

Listen up, all you car fans, as we received some new information about the upcoming Forza Motorsport reboot for the Xbox Series X|S and PC. This update includes several reveals of what features will be included and what won’t be included with the rebooted Forza Motorsport for the Xbox Series X|S and PC.

First, let’s take a look at what’s going to be included when the game is released later this year.

  • Featured Multiplayer: competitive racing, full racing weekends (open practice, qualifying, race, strategy)
  • Spec Series (even playing field) and Open Series (classic Forza class-based)
  • Pitting features • Forza Race Regulations overhauled with machine learning
  • Competitive Driver Rating
  • Safety Rating for clean racing
  • Earn progression on your car when you play Builders Cup, Free Play, Rivals, and multiplayer
  • Rivals mode returns
  • Private Multiplayer: features tons of custom game options

You can read more in-depth about these features over at the Official Forza Motorsport website.

Sadly, it’s not all good news, as it’s been revealed during the recent Forza Monthly show that a number of features will not make it into Forza Motorsport at launch. These include Split Screen racing, AI racers won’t be available in multiplayer, and Spectator Mode (no, not our podcast).

You can see and hear the bad news for yourself in the video below, starting at the 24:11 mark.

There’s also been a number of track reveals, including Grand Oak Raceway, Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, Road America (which happens to be one of my favorite tracks in any racing game), and Eaglerock Speedway.

Check out these track reveals below.

Forza Motorsport releases on October 10 for Xbox Series X|S and Windows. The game will be available on day one for Xbox Game Pass.
