Impending Royalty Battle To Possibly Delay WWE 2K15; Destiny’s Digital Upgrade Offer Announced

Attorneys For Former WWE Superstar CM Punk Send 22 Page Letter to WWE Over Royalties; Rumored PC Release for WWE2K15

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Laywers for CM Punk (real name Philip Brooks) have sent a 22 page letter to World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc, regarding royalties that Brooks feels that he is owed, especially when it comes to WWE 2K15. The belief is that WWE stopped paying Brooks royalties because they felt that he committed a Breach of Contract when he walked out of the company following this past January’s Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View.

With this looming over the upcoming release of WWE 2K15, this may possibly affect one of the main sticking points to WWE 2K15, the Showcase Mode, featuring the recent feud between 15-time WWE Champion John Cena and CM Punk.

WWE 2K15 was also rumored to receive a PC release as the GRB (the Korean Game Ratings Board) has applied for a WWE 2K15 rating for the PC game on August 29th. Take-Two has been releasing NBA 2K on PC since 2007,  but the idea of a WWE game on PC seemed to have come out of nowhere.

WWE 2K15 is slated for release on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on October 28th in the United States.

Buy Last-Gen Digital Content for Destiny, Get Current-Gen for Free

Activision and Bungie recently announced their upgrade offer on the official Destiny website. Until January 15th, 2015, if you purchase the digital version of Destiny, or its content, on Xbox 360 or PS3, you can acquire the current-gen version of said content for free, as long as it’s within the console’s family (e.g: Xbox 360 -> Xbox One, PS3 -> PS4.) There is a complete FAQ about the upgrade offer posted on the official website linked above.

Also, as reported on earlier, PlayStation 4 owners can pre-load the game now. However, you won’t be able to play the game until Tuesday, September 9th at Midnight.

Destiny is slated for release on Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on September 9th. The White PlayStation 4 Destiny Bundle will also be available on this date.
