Jujutsu Kaisen Opening & Ending Theme Songs Available Now

By Josh PiedraJuly 7, 2023

Milan Records today releases the official opening and ending theme songs to season two of the hugely popular anime series JUJUTSU KAISEN. Available everywhere now are the anime’s opening theme “Where Our Blue Is” by Tatsuya Kitani as well as the ending theme, “Akari” by Soushi Sakiyama.

The MAPPA-produced series originally made its season one debut in 2020, becoming an instant hit with fans and prompting the 2021 film prequel adaption Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which also was a blockbuster hit in theaters. Based on the manga by Gege Akutami, season two of Jujutsu Kaisen is set to begin streaming on Thursday, July 6, via Crunchyroll.

Of his opening theme, Tatsuya Kitani says: “The day when I felt like I could go anywhere, as if nothing was blocking my view. The day I realized that ‘you’ and ‘I,’ no matter how close we were or how much we looked forward to the same future, were fundamentally different beings. The day I was devastated by irreversible mistakes and losses that I could never touch again. Occasionally, I take out the precious memories of spring in my life and gaze upon them. It becomes a support for my heart that has become an ‘adult,’ whether it is tinted with the color of sweet reminiscence.”

Of his ending theme, Soushi Sakiyama comments:“I am very honored to be involved in the ending theme for such a great work. The theme of “Akari,” or “Light,” is about the change in the character Suguru Geto’s emotional state born out of his accumulated experiences and suffering. I believe that the heart is more delicate and ambiguous than we can imagine, much like walking a tight rope. Respect my heart, my loved ones, and others. That is my wish for this song. I hope you all like it, thank you very much.”
