Nixxes is porting Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart to the PC, arrives next month

By Keith MitchellMay 30, 2023

Nixxes have revealed that it has been working on a port of Insomniac Games’ Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart for the PC. This port will be arriving on the PC on July 26, 2023, and while I’m sure many PC gamers have a number of questions regarding this, it’s nice to see yet another PS5 title make the jump.

Thankfully, this won’t be a simple port as the game will also include widescreen support (21:9, 32:9, and up to 48:9), triple monitor setups, ray-traced reflections,  ray-traced shadows, and unlocked frame rates. Nope, that’s not all, as Nixxes has also stated that the game will also support Nvidia’s DLSS, Reflex, and DLAA, as well as AMD’s FSR and Intel’s XeSS. They are literally supporting every available GPU on the market, and that’s good stuff.

That said, there has been an alarming amount of console-to-PC ports that have been, well, terrible. Which has upset the PC gaming community, and rightfully so. Even still, when it comes to Nixxes, the developer was pretty damned amazing when it came to porting games to the PC, which was why PlayStation scooped them up. The company has already delivered us multiple PlayStation ports to the PC, including Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. They’ve proven themselves to me, and I’m not too worried about the upcoming Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart port. It’s in good hands. Though, I wonder about this whole “This game can only run on the PS5 because of its super dee duper SSD.” I’ll be watching to see how this all pans out. I’m looking forward to seeing how this looks and plays on an ultrawide monitor.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is currently available for preorder on Steam and the Epic Games Store and includes a few goodies, such as the Pixelizer Weapon and Carbonox Armor set.
