Experience Like a Dragon: Ishin!’s Combat With a Newly Released Demo

For everyone looking forward to Sega’s Like a Dragon Ishin!, you’re in luck, as a demo for the upcoming game has been released for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

This demo will let players explore content across two game segments, facing off enemies at Kiyomizu Temple, and then going toe to toe with three armored warriors to close it out. According to Sega, this demo will only last for 20 minutes. I’m sure that’s going to be more than enough for those who can’t wait for this game to drop.

I’ve already given the demo a try, and I’m hooked. I wasn’t looking forward to this game due to the already packed Q1 2023, but now I’ll have to find a way to make room for this game.

Additionally, any Xbox and PlayStation players who subscribe to the SEGA newsletter will receive access to two exclusive in-game weapons upon the game’s release: the Bonechewer Katana and the Waterdrop Katana, but only until March 20, 2023. Sadly, this offer

This spin-off of the Like a Dragon series is set in the Bakumatsu (1853–1867) phase of the Late Edo Period; players take on the role of Sakamoto Ryōma, who is distressed resulting from conflicting pressures and uncertainty about one’s self and role in the society. Caught in the middle of a Tosa coup d’état and determined to find the murderer who assassinated his mentor, Ryōma dons himself with a hidden identity, heads to the streets of Kyo, and joins the grim Shinsengumi.

Unlike the previous titles, such as Yakuza Kiwami 2, Judgment, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin! utilizes the Unreal Engine and not the Dragon Engine. According to RGG Studios Chief Director Hiroyuki Sakamoto, who interviewed with Ungeek.ph, the change was made due to the number of benefits the game engine afforded.

Like a Dragon: Ishin! launches February 21, 2023, for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC (Windows, Steam).
