How To Make A Focus Potion In Hogwarts Legacy

Gaining access to your spells quickly is essential for combat in Hogwarts Legacy, so having a Focus Potion would certainly help in your battle against the dwarves and dark wizards. The Focus Potion in Hogwarts Legacy quickens the cooldowns of spells like Incendio and Expelliarmus so that you can excel in battle.

In this Hogwarts Legacy Guide, we’ll show you how to create one of them in Hogwarts Legacy.

Where Do You Get The Recipe For The Focus Potion in Hogwarts Legacy?

To begin to brew a potion, you’ll first need the recipe. You’ll want to head over to Hogsmeade and visit J. Pippin’s Potions. It is located on the western side of the town, right next to the floo powder fast travel spot in that area. The storefront is blue with teal-green windows adorning it.

Enter inside and talk to the kind potion master inside. You can buy the recipe outright from him for 1,200 Galleons. However, if you don’t have the cash yet, you can also buy a Focus Potion in Hogwarts Legacy in the Combat Tools section of the shop menu for 500 Galleons. It’s way more cost-effective to buy the recipe though, so keep that in mind.

Where To Get The Ingredients For A Focus Potion

How To Make A Focus Potion In Hogwarts Legacy-02

To create a Focus Potion in Hogwarts Legacy, you will need the following:

  • One vile of Lacewing Flies
  • One Fluxweed Stem
  • One Dugbog Tongue

Each of these ingredients is fairly easy to discover in Hogwarts Legacy. You can find Lacewing Flies around the open fields of Hogwarts Legacy. They’re usually in bushes with a green light emanating from within them. Dugbog Tongues are a little tougher to retrieve as you have to defeat the frog-like creatures by the rivers of the open world. They can be pretty tough, so make sure you have a few Wiggenweld potions stashed, just in case.

The hardest to find is the Fluxweed Stem. There are two options. You can buy the seed packets you’ll need to grow your own from The Magic Neep for 350 Galleons. The store is further west from J. Pippin’s Potions. You can also buy two Fluxweed Stems for 150 Galleons if you don’t want to bother growing your own at The Room of Requirement or the Herbology classroom.

Once you’ve compiled all of the ingredients, go to a potion table at either the Room of Requirement or in the Potions classroom to create the useful Focus Potion.

If you feel lazy and want to speed up the process (we won’t judge you too much), you can also buy most of the ingredients from J. Pippin’s Potions. Five Lacewing Flies and five Dugbog Tongues cost 100 Galleons, respectively.

Look out for our Hogwarts Legacy review soon. We’re putting in the finishing touches, like creating a potion itself.
