Returnal Officially Heads to the PC on February 15

Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed the release date for Housemarque’s tough-as-nails PS5 shooter, Returnal, and the title heads to the PC on February 15th, 2023. The game is priced at $59.99, and will be available on Steam and the Epic Game Store.

First rumored in 2023, then eventually revealed during 2022 The Game Show, Housemarque’s Returnal is the next PlayStation title that will grace the PC. But more importantly, it will be the first PlayStation 5 title, hopefully opening the doors for more PS5 games on PC. Neither Marvel’s Spider-Man nor Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales didn’t count, as both were released on the PlayStation 4.

Ironically enough, I asked the question in my article, “When will PlayStation 5 games arrive on the PC,” back in August 2022. In it, I stated it was a matter of when not if.

More than just a simple port, the game will be optimized for the PC, and includes ultrawide support (21:9 & 32:9), Nvidia DLSS, AMD FSR,  Ray Tracing Shadows and Reflections, Dolby Atmos, 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound support, DualSense full haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support, and coop support. There’s no word on whether the co-op support will work across the Steam and Epic Game Store versions. Fingers crossed that it will.

As a PC gamer, I’m loving all the added features, and I’m now vindicated on spending so much on my Atmos setup, and I can’t wait to hear it, assuming it works correctly.

Of course, I’d be remiss if I didn’t drop the PC requirements, so check those out below.

Returnal PC Requirements

When Returnal was released for the PS5 in April 2021, I spent endless hours trying to make my way to the end. With the game heading to the PC, I can see myself doing that all over again. Sadly, all that progress from the PS5 version won’t be transferrable to the PC version.
