During today’s Nvidia GeForce Beyond CES 2023 live stream, Nvidia’s SVP of gaming, Jeff Fisher, revealed that Witchfire, a first-person shooter set in a dark fantasy setting, would implement DLSS 3 support. Following this, a short video showing off some gameplay of the game was shown.

Check out the gameplay footage below.

Witchfire currently doesn’t have a release date, but the developers, The Astronauts, have stated the game is slated to be released in early 2023. The last time we heard about Witchfire was back in October 2022. Now that early 2023 is being tossed around, we can expect to see the game being released between Q1/Q2 of 2023. It may also

Witchfire has been in development since it was revealed during the 2017 The Game Awards. Witchfire is a first-person shooter set in a dark fantasy setting. In this world, players will be tasked with taking down witches, who are very real and dangerous. As a witch hunter, you’ll utilize several weapons and abilities to help you on your mission. More recently, it was revealed that the title will now include semi open-world elements.
Witchfire will be the second release for The Astronauts, following the BAFTA award-winning title, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. The studio’s upcoming shooter returns co-founders Adrian Chmielarz, Michał Kosieradzki, and Andrzej Poznański to their roots— they are also the developers behind the trigger-happy hits Painkiller and Bulletstorm from their time at People Can Fly.
I’ve been looking forward to playing Witchfire for the longest time. The game was one of the titles I was looking forward to back in 2018, and more recently was one of my anticipated games of 2023.
