Need for Speed Unbound Has Gone Gold, New Gameplay Footage Released

By Keith MitchellNovember 21, 2022
Need for Speed Unbound

Today has been quite the day for Criterion Games, as they have announced that Need for Speed Unbound has gone gold. We’re less than two weeks until the game races onto the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with the game being released on December 2, 2022.

With everything going on as we race to launch, we forgot to announce that we’ve gone Gold with Need for Speed™ Unbound. And we’ve got a new gameplay trailer. pic.twitter.com/YogNzz4Xwl

That’s not all, as a new gameplay trailer, one that doesn’t constantly cut the gameplay out, has also been released. This time around, we’re being shown how the Need for Speed Unbound Speed Race events, meetups, and Side Betting will work.

As shown in the footage, players will need to meet up at various locations on the map, where they’ll have to have the required cash to partake in a race. Once there, they’ll be shown how much they’ll be able to win, as well as how much heat this particular race will earn them. Sideline spectators can also participate in the race by placing Side Bets and putting it all on the line for their favorite race. When the race starts, it’s up to the players to get to the finish line any way they can, and maybe they don’t have to follow the path laid out exactly. I’m getting some Burnout Paradise vibes, and I loved that game.

Not to mention that when Need for Speed Unbound is released, it will include 143 different vehicles at launch.

Need for Speed Unbound is built for the new generation of technology and will feature 4K resolution at 60 FPS for the first time in the series when it launches on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on December 2, 2022.
