New Horror Game Paranormal Tales Draws from Konami’s P.T.

Inspired by P.T., and possibly just as scary

While Konami’s P.T. isn’t available for download, and scores of horror fans will never be able to play this cult classic demo, that hasn’t stopped developers from trying to cash in on that experience. Now, the indie developer, Horror Cam Committee, has revealed its own take on PT, with Paranormal Tales (get it? PT). An upcoming horror game that will be played via bodycam perspective, where players find themselves looking for their dog, Teddy, in this extremely spooky, dark forest, and before you know it, everything gets out of hand.

Judging from the trailer, which you can check out below, the game’s goal is to scare the ever-loving crap out of you. According to Horror Cam Committee, Paranormal Tales draws its inspiration from Konami’s P.T. The game is being built on Unreal Engine 5 and is in early development. Despite that, the game is looking pretty good.

As for the experience, HCC has assured that the game will include plenty of jump scares, nervous breakdowns, anxiety, and perhaps 2some spiders. I can handle the first three, but spiders???

Paranormal Tales is currently available to wishlist on Steam, and at least for now, only seems to be coming to PC. There’s not much outside of the Paranormal Tales Steam page, but I’m sure the developer is eager to talk more about the game and likely will soon.

Details from the Steam page.

You likely won’t make it to the end of the footage – you must play it out for yourself and experience horror from a truly unsettling perspective.

  • Multiple Found Footage Scenarios – Various video files have been obtained by the Horror Cam Archives committee. Each file is a self-contained experience where you get to explore what happened to the people who have recorded these files. Are you able to survive each found footage file?
  • Exploration  – Explore various locations, whom all tell greatly different stories for the player to experience.
  • Body-cam Styled Gameplay – Experience the world from the viewpoint of a body-cam. Including auditory and visual effects to complete the immersion.
  • Hyper Realistic Environments – The game is developed with a sense of hyper-realism to create a visually stunning and memorable experience powered by Unreal Engine 5.

If you’re really interested in Paranormal Tales but you can’t wait for more information, there’s an official Discord community channel you can join today. Lastly, as this is an indie project, the team has set up a Patreon, where you can help support the title’s development.
