KartRider: Drift Has Hit Open Beta

By Josh PiedraAugust 30, 2022

Following the successful pre-registration period, Nexon’s kart racing party game, KartRider: Drift, will be conducting a “Global Racing Test” in open beta format beginning Wednesday, August 31 at 6:00 p.m. PDT (1:00 a.m. UTC) until Tuesday, September 6 at 6:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. UTC). The “Global Racing Test” will bring players together from around the world with full cross-platform and cross-play support. Racers can choose to play on PC, mobile (iOS, Android), or console (PS4, Xbox One).

KartRider: Drift

The truly global test encompasses Korea, Japan, North America, Latin America, and Europe and is open to everyone. With extended support for mobile platforms (Android, iOS), racers can enjoy thrilling racing moments with players from all over the world on PCs and consoles (PS4, Xbox One) without any device distinction. (However, for iOS, only 10,000 people can participate on a first-come, first-served basis. Racers who wish to participate in the “Global Racing Test” on iOS will need to download the TestFlight app.) Nexon aims to intensively validate the racing experience in a fully cross-play environment, including mobile devices, during the “Global Racing Test” period by capturing player feedback in advance of KartRider: Drift’s global launch.

The “Global Racing Test” will also showcase updated content like the new AI mode matching system that allows racers to practice fast matchmaking and a kart Upgrade System that will allow players to fine tune their kart’s performance. The License System, which teaches players to learn driving skills according to a given mission, adds a new grade, L3 – the highest difficulty level – to test your grit as the best of the best. Nexon has added a variety of further improvements since the last closed beta, including an information page that provides at-a-glance views of your play history, plus the addition of an in-game achievement system that provides points each time you participate in an activity.

Details of the “Global Racing Test” and links to download KartRider: Drift on your preferred platform can be found at the official website. Racers, start your engines!
