Pokemon Presents Drops Major Reveals About Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

By Todd BlackAugust 3, 2022
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Legendary Pokemon

Many fans were eager for the new Pokemon Presents for the simple reason that aside from updates on certain apps and other titles, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet would be in the spotlight too. Sure enough, the event delivered updates on things like Pokemon Masters EX, Cafe Remix, GO, and Unite. They even revealed that for the first time in three years, the Pokemon World Championships are coming back! Very cool. But again, it was Scarlet and Violet that most wanted to hear about.

First and foremost, we now know that the region we’ll be in is the Paldea region, and they confirmed that this WILL be an open-world RPG in which you can go seamlessly throughout towns and wild areas to catch Pokemon. To that end, the game’s story is going to include a bit more options than we’re used to in a Pokemon title. Not the least of which is that apparently, you’ll have three different paths to choose from. One of which is the “Gym Challenge,” as you would expect, but two others exist that apparently will have many “surprises.” We also got new looks at the legendary Pokemon, who are apparently going to be your Ride Pokemon throughout the game! How’s that for a twist?

You’ll also get to use a new mechanic called Terastal, where your Pokemon basically crystalize to get new powers and abilities. Add that to the reveal of new Pokemon, new people you meet, and so on, and you’ll want to watch the Pokemon Presents below, so you get all the details.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet arrive exclusively on the Nintendo Switch this November 18th, 2022. Which edition are you going to pick up? Or are you going to get them both? Sound off in the comments and let us know!
