Is the Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition Worth the Purchase?

By Keith MitchellJuly 19, 2022
Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition

Hello fellow gamers and collectors, welcome to a little segment I like to call “Is it Worth It?” Pretty much, I’ll take a look at upcoming collector editions and provide my opinion on their value. Or basically, is it worth purchasing. For my first victim… er, contestant, we’ll be looking at the Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition.

Of course, again, these are my opinions. I never want anyone to simply decide not to get something if they truly want it. But if you want to save some cash, this is why I’m here.

Is the Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition worth it?

The release date for Bayonetta 3 was only recently revealed, and the Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition was alongside that reveal. So, let’s break this thing down.

The Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition is priced at $89.99, which is just 30 dollars more than most physical Switch games. Include in this collection are the following:

Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition

  • Physical copy of Bayonetta 3
  • 200-page artbook
  • Three exclusive Bayonetta game sleeves (One for each game).

That’s it. There’s no statue, no physical or digital soundtrack, and no in-game items. It’s as barebones as you can get in terms of a collectors edition.

However, the key here is the 200-page artbook, which likely contains quite a bit of art from the game and bits of history. That alone makes up for the 30-dollar difference in my eyes. Considering that an artbook of that value would set you back as much or more. The Bayonetta 2 Official Artbook – The Eyes of Bayonetta will set you back 100 dollars or more.

I would have loved a statue of the Umbra Witch, as there aren’t many of them available. Those that have been produced are either out of print or ridiculously overpriced. Though, if one were included, then the price of this CE would have been much higher.

Regardless, I’m recommending that you scoop up the Bayonetta 3 Trinity Masquerade Edition as soon as possible if you’re a fan of Bayo. Even if you aren’t, but you enjoy artbooks, it might also be worth the purchase. Currently, GameStop and Best Buy are taking preorders for this CE. Though, GameStop still doesn’t have it listed on its website.

Bayonetta 3 is scheduled to be released on October 28, 2022, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch. While you wait, you can go play Bayonetta on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, or PC. Or check out Bayonetta 2, which is only available on the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo Switch.
