A Plague Tale: Requiem Extended Gameplay and Release Date Announced

By Keith MitchellJune 23, 2022
A Plague Tale Requiem announced

Thanks to Focus Entertainment’s recent showcase, the release date for A Plague Tale: Requiem has been revealed and the game will be released on October 18th, 2022.

In addition to the release date reveal, a new extended gameplay trailer was also released. Being that it is a gameplay trailer, we got to see a bit more than we did during the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase trailer. Still, it wasn’t enough, but I’ll have to settle with what was teased. Interestingly enough, it would seem that Hugo will gain several new abilities, including one shown in the gameplay trailer. Now, he can use the rats to see enemies while being hidden. Seems to be a handy ability and one we’ve seen in other similar games.

While not shown or mentioned, PC gamers will be happy to know the game will also support Nvidia’s and DLSS, and Ray Tracing, if you’re rocking a RTX 3000 series card. Asobo Studio has been working with Nvidia to ensure this will be included. No word on if any of AMD’s technologies will make it into the game.

Check out the extended gameplay below.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is the follow-up to A Plague Tale: Innocence, which focused on the sibling pairing of Amicia de Rune and her brother, Hugo, in hopes of curing him of illness. Requiem continues the tale with the siblings being much older as they attempt to escape their homeland and into the vast open world.

If you haven’t played the first game, now is a good time to do so. If you’re looking to play on the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, a next-gen patch was released in 2021 that fully utilizes the machine’s capabilities.

The A Plague Tale: Requiem release date is October 18, 2022, for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch (Cloud), and PC. The game will be available through Xbox Game Pass as a day one release.
