Is Astral Chain Getting A Sequel?

By Todd BlackMay 26, 2022
Astral Chain 2

For many Nintendo Switch fans, the only thing they want from Platinum Games right now…is Bayonetta 3. It’s said to still be coming out this year after YEARS of talk and delays, so hopefully, that still holds true. But the question then becomes, is there something else that they might be working on right now? Well, if rumors and sources are to be believed, we might just be getting a sequel to their original IP for the Switch: Astral Chain.

Astral Chain came out in 2019 and featured a very unique world where you played as one of two siblings who must use monsters known as Legions to stop other Legions, solve mysteries, travel into another dimension, and save the megacity you call home. It was a very unique (and very anime-style) game that sold over 1 million units. With multiple sources that an Astral Chain sequel is in the works, I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.

Would it surprise me if this rumor were true? Absolutely not.

Astral Chain was a success for Nintendo and Platinum games. Nintendo owns the IP, so it makes sense they'd want to continue.

Hopefully we get a Bayonetta 3 release date within the next month.https://t.co/v9Wi9rUg3Z

It needs to be said again that this is just rumor and speculation, but, like the second source said, it does make sense that this might happen. We’ll just have to wait and see. In the meantime, read our review for Astral Chain and see why we liked the game so much!
