Valve To Increase Steam Deck Production, More Hopeful Owners to Be Notified Quicker

Today, Valve announced two things for Steam Deck hopefuls. The first is that they have started emailing those on the Q2 reservation list. If you missed out on the Q1 shipments and noticed that you got bumped into Q2, check your email. You might find a surprise there.

Next, Valve revealed that it is ramping up the Steam Deck shipments. Thanks to this, the company will be able to send out more Steam Deck order availability emails. Possibly twice a week, in their words.

Lastly, updated the Steam Deck product page to be more verbose. Instead of just seeing a blanket release window, those who have preordered a unit will see a better idea of when they can expect to receive theirs.

Welcome to Q2! We've just sent out the first set of order emails to Q2 reservers (in order of reservation time). Starting today we're ramping up Steam Deck shipments, and will be sending more order availability emails every week. Sometimes even twice a week! pic.twitter.com/54TAoCQXfd

While it’s nice to see that Valve is ramping up production of its super in-demand Steam Deck, it didn’t mention how much. Either way, it’s good to see that those stuck on the Q2 list should see a Steam Deck faster than those in the prior Q1 queue.

Still, there does seem to be a discrepancy in how soon a person receives their preordered unit. From what I’ve seen on Reddit, the North American preorder list is quite a bit lower than that of those who preordered overseas. Of course, that’s from my research, and that discrepancy could be influenced by those who have been more vocal about receiving a unit.

Sadly, on my end, though I’m also in Q2, I have received no email yet. Hopefully, I’ll see one next week or the week after that.
