Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent Is Heading West

By Todd BlackFebruary 8, 2022
Octopath Traveler Beginners Guide, Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent, Square Enix

When the original Octopath Traveler was released, a lot of people were curious about what the game would be like, and how its “2.5 HD” look that Square Enix was boasting would look and feel on the console. Once the game released, it easily became one of the best old-school-style RPGs made in this generation of titles. Mixing deep RPG stories with great characters and a simple yet deep battle system. The success of the game (read our review of it here!) led to the creation of Triangle Strategy which arrives next month. But if you recall, there was a prequel game via Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent, but that didn’t release outside of Japan…but…

…on Twitter, the official channel for Octopath revealed that Octopath Traveler Champions of the Continent will indeed launch in North America and Europe this year, with new details coming in about a week via their Facebook Page.

OCTOPATH TRAVELER: Champions of the Continent (English ver.) will launch in North America and Europe in 2022!
We'll have more to share in mid-February, so keep an eye on the official Facebook page for the latest news!#octopathcotc #オクトラ大陸の覇者https://t.co/S0OlifhWz6 pic.twitter.com/2wPwNMJbhT

There will be a closed beta for the title, which if you didn’t know was a prequel to the original game and was on mobile instead of console. So it’s going to be interesting to see how it all goes once it’s all localized. So stay tuned for more!
