Nintendo Switch Sales At 103 Million Units Sold

Since basically its launch, the Nintendo Switch has been a console that has continued to sell with incredible speed. Especially once all the incredible 1st and 3rd party games started to role in. Something that is definitely happening in 2022 might we add. But the question has always been, especially after what happened with the Wii U, how high could it go? Last month, we noted how speculation stated that the Switch had topped the previous best-selling Nintendo console ever via the Nintendo Wii, and today, Nintendo confirmed that.

In their newest financial report, detailing end of year sales for 2021, Nintendo revealed that the Switch has sold over 103 million units between the OG Switch, the Switch Lite, and the Nintendo Switch OLED.

This is incredible considering that the Switch hasn’t finished its 5th year of life. What’s more, Shuntaro Furukawa acknowledged that the Switch is still in the “Middle of its lifecycle” in Nintendo’s eyes, so there’s room for plenty more sales.

As for what’s next in the record books? The PS4 stands current at 116 million units sold. Let’s see if the Switch can beat that by the end of the year!
