Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy from Square Enix is a fantastic single-player game based on the Guardians of the Galaxy comic book and movie. However, unlike other Marvel games, this game features elements from RPGs where you have to make a decision and that decision can influence a specific outcome. This guide will cover one such instance, however, before we proceed I want to let you know that this is a spoiler.
Early on in the game, you’ll meet up with Lady Hellbender and you’ll be forced to sell off one of your members of your team: Rocket or Groot. Depending on what you do will make things easier for you, one will cause a bit of trouble.
Why are you selling off your teammates?
When you meet up with Lady Hellbender, she takes quite an interest in Groot. With no way out of the scenario, you have to make a choice. The problem here is that Groot feels that selling him is best for the team. While Rocket only wants to protect Groot, so you can see how this ends up becoming a problem. Thankfully, both outcomes are beneficial to you.
Should you sell Groot?
If you elect to sell Groot, you’ll be awarded 10,000 credits. If you’re feeling lucky, you can let Drax do the talking by flirting with Lady Hellbender, and you could end up with 12,000 credits instead. Don’t fret, you’ll be able to get Groot back later on by completing a stealth section, fighting a few enemies, and finishing a puzzle. Not a bad day’s work; you get some money and your buddy back with not much effort.
This option is the best in my opinion, as it lets you see more of Lady Hellbender’s castle.
Should you sell Rocket?
If you offer to sell Rocket over to Lady Hellbender, she’ll pretty much laugh in your face. This upsets Rocket and causes him to act out and before you know it, you’re plunged into a battle. You’ll also be trapped in a vault with poison gas, which also stinks. However, it’s not all bad as there are 4 bowls with 3,000 credits each. This means if you collect the credits within each bow, you’ll end up with 12,000 credits. So don’t leave as soon as Lady Hellbender fills the vault with poison, and hit all the bowls.
Regardless of which character you end up selling, you’ll still get paid.
