Darkest Dungeon II early access heads to the Epic Game Store next month

By Keith MitchellSeptember 14, 2021
Darkest Dungeon II announcement

Darkest Dungeon is a game that I loved and frustrated me to no end; I wanted more. So once I heard the game was getting a sequel, I was over the moon and started counting down the days until it would be released. And while we still don’t have a release date, the game heading to EGS as an early access title on October 26th, 2021, is the next best thing.

Today, the Darkest Dungeon Twitter account has mentioned that Darkest Dungeon II is heading to the Epic Games Store as an early access title.  This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this, as the announcement was mentioned back during Oct. 2020 that the game would arrive on EGS in 2021. We’re almost an entire year since the original announcement.

As the tweet mentions, you can wishlist the game now on the Epic Game Store, as I have. We still don’t know much of anything, as Redhook Studios has been quiet about the follow-up. Though I’d imagine once we’re ready to open the early access floodgates, we’ll hear more about the game. Oh, how I look forward to that and being randomly cursed and my entire party dying because of reasons.

As for all of you bitching and moaning because this is headed to EGS and how you want this on Steam, get over it. It is what it is, and there’s no changing it. If you want to miss out on a game you’ve been looking toward just because it’s on your favorite game store? C’mon, we should be beyond this by now. It’s not going anywhere, so get used to it.
