Glen Keane debuts “Duet” at the recent Google I/O 2014 conference

This dazzling piece of animation is the work of a retired Disney animator, Glen Keane, a name you should be very familiar to you if you grew up on Disney classics such as Aladdin, Tarzan, Treasure Planet (On of my favorites) and many many more. Entitled “Duet“, this animation was first shown off at the Google I/O 2014 conference and serves as an example of what can be accomplished with current day mobile devices. While “Duet” was only shown off as a short film Google plans to release a fully interactive version of  Duet later on in 2014.

Duet is part of an ongoing series from Google called “Google Spotlight Stories” which is a project for lack of  a better word is an attempt to mesh technology together with the creation of animation  and tp create a living digital canvas, one that will eventually replace the traditional pen / pencil and paper canvas.

You can find out more about the series by going to http://googlespotlightstories.com or if you have a  Motorola Moto-X device by heading to the Google Play store and downloading the Motorola Spotlight Player – here. Sadly if you don’t have a Motorola Android device you’ll have to wait until it’s readily available other Android devices.
