Amazon’s New World MMORPG Delayed Again To September 28

While Amazon’s New World looks to be the first successful game from the company, they’re not taking any chances and have decided to delay the game again. Originally scheduled to be released this August 31st, 2021, the game has been delayed until September 28th, 2021.

This marks the time the game has been delayed. Originally slated to be released Spring 2021,  as COVID-19 ruined the 2020 release date. Then delayed again to August 2021, and now the most recent delay.

Amazon's New World MMO delayed

Amazon cites the reason for the delay is due to the feedback that was provided during the recent beta. The feedback was used to determine that the game still needs some polish, and rather than release a game in a rough state, the decision was made to delay the game. Which is the right call; we’ve all seen what happens to games that are heavily hyped, then get released in a terrible state. I won’t name any names, but you know what I’m referring to.

I applaud Amazon for realizing this is the right call. Far too many games from Amazon’s game studios were rushed, full of bugs, and ultimately paid the price. With New World, Amazon has a legit chance to make an impact in the overly crowded MMORPG scene, and I’m assuming they realize this as well.

For those who have played the New World beta, I’m sure you’re patiently waiting to get your hands on the game, as am I, as I’ve been impressed with what I’ve played so far. However, keep in mind that all our beta progression will be wiped once the full game is released. I know it sucks, but that’s what happens, and I’m sure they don’t want anyone having an unfair advantage over anyone else in terms of leveling progression.

Amazon’s New World has been delayed until September 28th, 2021, and is only being released for the PC.
