Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Won’t Be At E3 2021

Another eagerly awaited title won’t make an appearance at E3 2021. Ubisoft has delayed the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake until sometime in 2022.

Originally slated for a January 2021 release date, the title was eventually delayed until March 2021. Then delayed again, this time indefinitely. It’s been quite some time since we’ve heard anything about the game.

Today, Ubisoft tweeted out that the game won’t make a showing during the Ubisoft Forward, which takes place during E3 2021.

“Ubisoft Forward is around the corner and we wanted to use this time to thank you for the amount of support you have shown us in the past year.”

“As you might have already read, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will not be in Ubisoft Forward. We are making great progress for our game to release next year, but we are not ready to share any additional information just yet. We will share an update as soon as we are ready.”

“Until then, we wanted to express our appreciation for your continuous support, as well as your patience with us on our journey. We are looking forward to the moment when we will be able to share more with you.”

The developer hasn’t mentioned why the game has been delayed to 2022; honestly, do they need to? You know where I’m going with this, right? I love it when a publisher or developer (or both) realizes that delaying a game is the best move.

No one wants to see a game that has tons of potential get raked over the white-hot coals of disappointment. Take as time much time as you need, Ubisoft. We’re in no rush, and neither should you be.

Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Remake is currently in development for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
